Adaware, which is a product of cybersecurity firm Lavasoft, (formerly known as Ad-Aware) It was created to protect users from rogue apps and privacy invasions that many users are unaware. It includes programs that alter your browsing habits, programs that hijack the start page of your browser and apps that display annoying advertising at the most unsettling times. This free program offers many features that will boost your device’s security and ensure it runs smoothly.
In our tests, adaware was able to detect the majority of malware we put at it. However, it had a difficult time getting rid of some malware. The program does include several useful extras such as a privacy monitor a registry scanner, a file shredder and advanced network monitoring. It’s worth noting though, that adaware doesn’t provide as much protection as the top antivirus tools in the industry.
Adaware’s last participation in AV Test lab tests resulted in the blocking of only 95. The 4% of risks that are 0-day and 97% of known risks. These aren’t terrible scores however they’re not even near the top security suites.
People who want adsware to perform better should consider alternatives. We recommend Kaspersky and Bitdefender as they are known for their reliability and performance in real-world tests. Some users may be disappointed that only customers of the Pro and Total plans have access to technical and customer support via the internet. On its website, the company provides numerous information and frequently asked questions.
