Jang-mi tries to sneak past them into the kitchen, but Hoon-dong catches her mid-sneak. He’s thrilled to see her, but when Jang-mi sees that the woman with him is Hyun-hee, her face falls and she runs. I’m not sure I like the conniving little glint in Hyun-hee’s eye.
I got so sick of their plastic, enigmatic smiles. I understood the rest of the characters, I felt like they were real people, and then there was Ken and Barbie. I didn’t actually like a single one of the characters, and especially Gong Gi Tae.
Ki-tae spends 48 hours locked in the bathroom, reading, exercising, and fighting boredom. He weakens and hallucinates his friends and family saying how tired they are of him, knowing none of them will come and rescue him. For a moment he perks up thinking of Jang-mi, but remembers their fight and loses hope. He lies on the floor and passes out, just as we saw him at the top of the episode.
After a successful surgery, Jang-mi’s dad cuts fruit for Mom and tells her his plan to open a pizza delivery place. She grouches that it’s not much better than chicken and lets him know that she still hates him, but she’s taking him back so as not to burden Jang-mi. She says she’ll use the money from selling the chicken place for Jang-mi’s wedding, asserting that she only objected because Ki-tae’s mother was so rude and whoops, there she is, come to visit. I love a show that can make me laugh, get angry, swoon with romance, and feel for someone’s pain all at the same time, and this show is hitting all the right notes for me. So far, this is one of the few dramas I’ve watched that managed to draw me in from the start to the end.
The Heavenly Idol ( Episode 9
I’m excited for both of the leads and enjoyed them each immensely in this, but I’ve got to give extra props to Han Groo for being such a natural at the physical comedy. Anyway, they made a delightful OTP that I shall remember fondly for a long time. She’s the only reason i keep watching the show. Just when they thought it couldn’t get any worse, the sky opens up and it starts to pour. All of the wedding guests run for cover, leaving Ki-tae and Jang-mi to stand in the rain at the altar all alone.
One thing that hits me on this series is to appreciate all my loved ones for all their kinkiness, messiness and all their disorders since I for one is one…. Appreciate https://legitdatingsites.com/ your comments and insights LOllypip and GF. Most touching moment – ki-tae mom accepting in laws and friends and wanting to continue living with them.
Add to that attraction and just generally enjoying her company, it’s easy to see why he might fall for her. I’ve watched every episode of MnD and HSK TWICE. Haha I’ve been starved for good rom-coms and now I’m gorging on them. I was wondering why dramabeans doesn’t do the recap, but finally you do. The women are all in a tizzy, and tell Ki-tae that it’s better if he marries a different girl. He yells at them all to hush, and wraps up his plan by declaring that the only woman he will ever marry is Jang-mi – so if they oppose his marrying her, he’ll just stay single forever. Some patrons make a rude comment to Jang-mi, and Mom kicks them out.

I will say the product placement for the LG portable photo printer in the last episode totally got me. I immediately looked it up and may still buy it … “Delivery Man”, starring “All of Us Are Dead” actor Yoon Chan Young and singer Min Ah, is winning hearts. Check out the details of the upcoming romance K-drama. Lee Seo Jin, Yoon Chan Young, and Golden Child’s Bong Jae Hyun are confirmed to lead the upcoming K-drama I, a Gangster, Became a High Schooler. Mom pulls ready-to-go divorce papers out from under the register and prepares to sign, but Jang-mi stops her and agrees to help with the memorial. When questioned about Ki-tae, Jang-mi blurts out that he’s selfish and rude, but Grandma doesn’t take offense and says he needs someone honest like her. Jang-mi pouts that he always wants to be alone, and Grandma gets teary-eyed and sobs that it’s all her fault.
I think this is only like the 2nd drama out of hundreds that I have gone back and rewatched almost the entire show. The manga-ish reactions and the sound effects and comedic-timings are so on point it’s almost unbelievable. I definitely hope for Ki-tae’s mom to turn into a character I love (I already sort of do) and not go the typical mother-in-law route we’re used to seeing in dramaland. I want her and Jang-mi to be best friends at the end of this show. Viki occasionally tells me that a video isn’t available in my area too, but after a refresh or two, it works (i live in the US as well).
He says she needs to stop crossing boundaries over and over – that’s how she ends up accused of stalking. It’s hilarious how she runs around touching all his stuff, causing Ki-tae to wig out, which just makes her do it even more to get under his skin. The last straw is when Jang-mi settles into his expensive massage chair and changes the settings, but she says she’s earned the right by helping him stay a bachelor. Ki-tae reluctantly lets Jang-mi come in just until Hoon-dong leaves, which is apparently a big deal as he never has visitors, not even women.
He says he’s only spent time with her because he wanted to ultimately be left alone, but now he can’t get rid of her. Jang-mi can only stammer that she’s sorry, and Ki-tae reminds her again that he has no intentions of getting married if that’s what she’s thinking, adding that he hates girls like her. Hurt, Jang-mi just quietly apologizes again and leaves. Yeo-reum lays out a picnic for Jang-mi, and she’s touched to see the same fancy dish he was studying so intently earlier in the day. She shocks him by eating bites of it with kimchi, which he doesn’t like, but he admits they’re good together when she convinces him to try it.
Marriage Not Dating Episode 3
TvN seems to really like wedding scenes in their dramas this year. I just realized that Han Groo, Sun Hwa and So Hee are all in their very early 20’s. I was surprised to find out that there was an 8 year age gap between HG and YWJ. He needs to loosen up and act more natural. There is nothing more intimidating than a flock of meddling ahjummas. This adds onto my list of most fave dramas.
She is in some ways like Jang Mi too, esp. in the dating area. 😉
I’ll always remember her as Jang Mi, just like everyone who watched Girl K remembers her as Girl K. I super loved that Mom, Grandma, and Aunt were equally thrilled about staying together and giving Dirtbag the boot.
